Attached are the school division's two draft calendar options for the 2006-07 school year. The Calendar Committee - and in particular, the Parent Council's representative on that committee, Stacey Walker - invites and encourages feedback on these draft options before a recommended calendar is submitted to the School Board for adoption. It's important to note that in order for the school year to start before Labor Day, there must be at least 6 snow days in the current school year (4 days have been missed thus far).  Therefore, the committee is reviewing two drafts, one before Labor Day and one after Labor Day, in case the 6-day threshold is not reached this year.  It is the committee's wish to start before Labor Day and that draft very much mirrors this school year.

 

The Parent Council has very briefly discussed the two options at its December 2005 and January 2006 meetings.  Final discussion will occur at the February 7th meeting.  In the meantime, though, please send your comments (and those of others from the school you represent on the Parent Council) to Stacey Walker at walkx4 at earthlink.net.
