I'd like to mention also that e-mails go a long way to inform our 
supervisors about what we want as their constituents. If you are unable 
to attend the meeting, then e-mail your support and encourage others to 
do the same. Obviously, the more specific you can be about the budget 
proposals you feel strongly about, the better. I have found our BOS very 
responsive to e-mail input.
