We hope you and your families have had a WONDERFUL summer! Please consider
helping out with the following two "Before-School" events.and thanks for
your support of Albemarle High School!

BACK TO SCHOOL BEAUTIFICATION DAY: SATURDAY AUGUST 12 (Rain Date Saturday
August 19)

The 2nd Annual Back to School Beautification Day will be Saturday morning,
August 12, 2006 from 8am-11am. The AHS community, including parents,
students, teachers, staff, and alumni are invited to come for an hour or
more to help spruce up Albemarle grounds prior to the start of school.
Senior Government Students can earn community service credits needed for
graduation by participating.

HERE'S THE INFO:

WHAT: Pulling weeds, pruning, picking up trash and spreading mulch outside
the school and inside the breezeway.

WHEN: SATURDAY, AUGUST 12, 8am-11am-You don't need to stay for the whole
time-even an hour will help!

WHERE: Sign in at the Main Entrance of AHS-you will be given directions on
where to report.

WHAT TO BRING: Bring your gloves, trowels, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows,
clippers, favorite shades, sunscreen, A FRIEND, and your enthusiasm!

WHAT ELSE: We need a couple of adults to staff the "Sign-in Table",
starting @ 8am. We also will supply lots of cold drinks, trash bags, and a
tractor for heavy lifting and moving.

SENIOR STUDENTS: YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS WILL COUNT TOWARD YOUR AHS GOVERNMENT
COMMUNITY SERVICE REQIREMENT, WHICH YOU NEED FOR GRADUATION! Ask when you
arrive how to register for this. You MUST sign in and out in order to get
credit for this service.

Thanks to the support of almost 100 AHS community members, including many
dedicated parents, sports players, key club members and teachers, we were
able to spruce up the school grounds in a short amount of time during our
past Beautification Days. Come join the fun, bring a friend, say hello to
fellow Patriots and best of all, show off your Patriot Pride! Your help
will be greatly appreciated.

For QUESTIONS or to Volunteer to staff the Sign-in Table, please Contact
Leigh Surdukowski lsurdukowski at k12albemarle.org or Carol Saller
