FIRST PTSO MEETING TOMORROW: THURSDAY AUGUST 31, 7pm in the MEDIA CENTER 
Just a reminder that, due to Back to School Night on Thursday September 7,
the first AHS PTSO meeting will be held on Thursday August 31 at 7pm in the
Media Center.  Our meetings are usually held on the FIRST THURSDAYS OF THE
MONTH at 7pm.  The agenda will include a discussion & planning of upcoming
PTSO events for the 2006-07 school year.  

Also, Dr. Haas (AHS Principal) will be present to explain the format of our
NEW "8th Period" and to answer questions. (PLEASE NOTE: if you are unable to
attend the PTSO Meeting, Dr. Haas will be presenting this information again
on Back to School Night at 6pm in the Auditorium)

 Please join us and share your ideas!

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 7:
6pm, Auditorium: "State of the School" & & Presentation about THE "NEW 8TH
PERIOD" by Dr. Haas
7pm: Follow a "Day in the Life of Your Student at AHS" (PLEASE bring your
student's schedule!)

Start your school year off right by attending Back to School Night!   

The evening will start at 6pm in the Auditorium with Dr. Haas' presentation
on the "State of the School" and "The NEW 8th Period".  Then, at 7pm, you
will report to your student(s)' FIRST PERIOD class, where you will meet your
child's teacher and have a brief presentation.  You will continue to attend
all classes, Periods 1 through 8 through a modified Bell Schedule.  This
will be an informative and busy night, so be prepared!  

PLEASE BRING YOUR STUDENT(S) SCHEDULE(S) WITH YOU.

A limited number of School Maps will be available that evening, and maps are
also posted throughout the building.

PARENT "REFRESHMENT VOLUNTEERS" NEEDED FOR HOMECOMING DANCE: OCTOBER 14 

The Freshmen SCA Representatives, Lizzy Ramey & Emily Miller are requesting
Parent Volunteers to help at the Refreshment Table at the Homecoming Dance
on Saturday, October 14.  Here's the info:

WHAT:  "Refreshment Table Volunteers" (you will NOT be asked to "chaperone"
or monitor student behavior at the dance)

WHEN:  Homecoming Dance, Saturday October 14, 2006 from 8-11:30pm

WHERE: AHS Cafeteria

WHAT ELSE: The AHS Administration and Teachers take responsibility for
monitoring Student Behavior at the dances, so you can reassure your student
that you will not be monitoring them on the dance floor!

Please RSVP by September 15 if you are willing to volunteer.  Please contact
Carol Saller at saller at adelphia.net to volunteer or with questions.  Thanks
for your support of AHS!
