ACPS HONORS CHOIR CONCERT TODAY, FRIDAY DECEMBER 1 @ 5pm, AHS AUDITORIUM 

Albemarle High School is hosting this year's Albemarle County Public Schools
Honors Choir.  Select choir students from the different schools in the
county will be practicing today at AHS and will have a concert performance
today DECEMBER 1ST AT 5:00 pm IN THE AHS AUDITORIUM.  

 

Come join us to celebrate and enjoy the music of our ACPS Honors Choir!

SCA CANNED FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT THE SALVATION ARMY: DECEMBER 4-15

The SCA will be having a CANNED FOOD DRIVE to benefit the Salvation Army.  

 

HERE'S THE INFO:

WHAT: CANNED FOOD DRIVE to benefit the SALVATION ARMY

WHEN: December 4th-15th

WHERE: Students should bring in canned food items to their 3RD PERIOD
CLASSES, where they will be collected.  

WHAT ELSE: The SCA's goal is to collect 1700 cans (which is only ONE CAN PER
STUDENT!), 

                         and the top teachers and classes will be rewarded
with prizes.

 

Please be generous to this worthy cause to help the Salvation Army during
this holiday season.

BETA CLUB "SHOEBOXES FOR THE TROOPS" COLLECTIONS: DECEMBER 4-14 

The AHS Beta Club is collecting "Care Package" items to pack in shoeboxes
which will be sent to our US Troops overseas.  

Your help in donating items to be included in these "Shoeboxes" would be
greatly appreciated.

 

HERE'S THE INFO:

WHAT: "SHOEBOXES for the TROOPS"

WHEN: December 4th-14th

WHERE: Items can be dropped of in the AHS MAIN LOBBY

WHAT ELSE:  SUGGESTED ITEMS:

                          HYGENE:  razors, shaving cream, toothpaste,
toothbrushes, tissues, etc

                          FOOD: small items such as fruit cups, tuna, "to-go
meals", ramen noodles, beef jerky 

                          SNACKS: ITEMS THAT WILL NOT MELT-NO CHOCOLATE,
PLEASE 

                                          :  hard candy, granola bars, nuts,
etc

                          POWDERED DRINK MIXES: Kool Aid, Iced Tea Mix,
Lemonade Mix, etc

                          MAGAZINES, BOOKS, DVD'S CD'S

 

THANK YOU for helping the Beta Club to support our U.S. Troops as they serve
our country overseas!

DECA "SILENT AUCTION" TO BENEFIT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY: DECEMBER 4-14 

Need to do some holiday shopping? Starting at midnight on December 4th,
Albemarle DECA will be hosting a silent auction to benefit the muscular
dystrophy association and AHS student Robbie Flemming. The auction will run
through midnight on December 15th.

The silent auction, "CLICK FOR HOPE", will be accessible through the AHS

The online auction is open to all students, staff, faculty, parents and
community. Some available items: car detail coupons, jewelry, crystal,
glassware, towels and linen sets, beauty baskets full of gift certificates,
hand-made candle votive, vacation packages to Wintergreen, Bone Fish Grill
gift certificates, movie passes, AHS apparel, and a SIGNED Dave Mathews CD,
just to name a few. 

 

A Special Auction Gala will be held in Room 112 Thursday, December 7th  5-8
pm. 

Appetizers and refreshments provided.

Computers available to preview items and bid online.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN-UP: DEC 1, 4 & 5 

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES ARE WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6 from 4:15-7:15pm.  . 

 

The following is the Sign-Up Procedure for Conferences:

1.	SIGN UP SHEETS FOR ALL TEACHERS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN A BINDER IN THE
MAIN OFFICE STARTING WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 29, from 8:00am until 4:30pm. . 

*         SIGN-UPS MUST BE DONE IN PERSON Parents or their students may sign
up for conferences.  

*         Parent Schedule papers will be available.  Please write down your
conference schedule after signing up. 

*         PLEASE NOTE: Some teachers have requested only 5 or 10 minute
conferences.  PLEASE READ EACH TEACHER'S SIGN-UP SHEET CAREFULLY.  

*         PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE MAIN OFFICE TO SIGN UP.  Secretaries will
provide information, but will NOT schedule any conferences.   

 

2.	 SIGN UP SHEETS WILL BE POSTED ON EACH TEACHER'S DOOR ON CONFERENCE
NIGHT.  PARENTS WHO DID NOT SIGN UP IN ADVANCE MAY SIGN UP FOR ANY VACANT
SLOTS THAT EVENING 

*         Parents may also "stand-by", in case a parent does not show up for
their scheduled conference

*         Parents are responsible for being on time; any parent not present
at the time of their scheduled conference will be replaced by a "stand-by"

*         Conferences will start and end promptly at scheduled times.
Please be respectful and cooperative.

 

3.	THERE WILL BE "SCHEDULED CONFERENCES" FROM 4:15-6:45 PM.  

FROM 6:45-7:15 PM, PARENTS MAY "WAIT IN LINE" FOR A CONFERENCE

*	This is to accommodate those parents who were not able to sign up in
advance. 

 

4.	ANY PARENT WHO IS UNABLE TO SCHEDULE A CONFERENCE MAY WRITE CONTACT
INFORMATION ON THE SIGN-UP SHEET.  

THE TEACHER WILL CONTACT YOU TO SCHEDULE ALTERNATE CONFERENCE OPTIONS
