Red Hill Roar
September 8, 2008
The Week At A Glance:
Wednesday 9/10: Explorer Day 8:30AM-9:30AM.
Announcements:
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: Is coming soon! Mark your calendars everyone, Back To School Night is Thursday, September 25, 6:30-8:00PM.
BOOK BASKETS: Once again, Red Hill will be participating in the Book Basket Program. It is a nonprofit organization committed to giving new and used books to those children in our area who might not otherwise have many books of their own. You'll see wicker baskets in the lobbies of many public and private schools in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, and we have one too! Please help bring the magic of books and reading into the homes of children in our community. Place your gently used books in the basket in the lobby, and when it is full, they will be delivered to the distribution area, sorted, and put into the hands of local children. Books for children of all ages are welcome.
GIRL SCOUT FUNDRAISER: Look for a Red Hill Girl Scout if you would like to purchase an Attractions Dining and Value Guide Coupon Book. There are great coupons for local dining, and local businesses too! You'll see coupons for Downtown Athletic, Michaels, Rack Room Shoes, Kathy's Produce, Oil Changes and much more. Coupons are valid now through 2009 and the Troop receives $10 for each $25 book sold. The girls are raising funds for a group overnight adventure at Great Wolf Lodge.
PTO FUNDRAISER: The Peel Away Coupon Fundraiser is underway! Each $12 card carries $150 worth of coupons for local fast-food favorites like Domino's Pizza, Subway, Chik-Fil-A, Burger King and more! Be sure to turn your orders in by September 30.
THE RED HILL MISSION STATEMENT:Together, the entire Red Hill community engages the mind and heart of each student to become a lifelong learner with the necessary skills to be a contributing member of our world.
RED HILL VISION: Through the development of Curiosity, imagination, love of learning, respect for diversity, and intellect, all learners reach their highest potential.
