Along with Mike, I would like to reiterate a big THANK YOU to Coach
Bryce, Emily and Sara our coxswains for the Rocketts Landing Sprints. 

Mike thank you for assisting me in coordinating the race registration,
communication and very "colorful commentaries" along the way. 

Also thank you to the rowers participating in Rocketts Landing Sprints
this year. For some it was their first race and hopefully more to come. 

I would also like to thank the rest of the rowers in both AM and PM sweep
programs for accommodating us with the race line ups and practices
leading up to race day. We appreciate your cooperation in this regard.

Here's to more good rowing with RRC, the best community rowing club in
Virginia!

Hi All,

Quick regatta recap.

Mixed 4 - Scott, Pat, Mike, Eileen - Disqualified - lane violation.  It's
a long story, full of lots of colorful, bad language.  We were in second.
 Caught a crab, had an oar pop all the way out of the oar lock and then
got DQd under a protest from people who passed us and we caught AGAIN
with only 3 rowers from a dead stop.  What-everrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Anyhow...

Women's 4 - Ashley, Carol, Maria, Eileen - 3rd place

Men's 4 - Gary, Joe, Mike, David - 3rd place

Ben - our lone sculler - no results posted at Ronin, and I lost the slip
of paper I wrote the results down on.  Sorry Ben.  :-(

Saving the best race for last - Mixed 8 - Joe, Scott, David, Gary, Pat,
Ashley, Maria, Carol - 2nd place - very nice end to the day.  Great
effort.

Pics will be posted to the RRC web site when they come in.

Thanks a million to Bryce, Emily and Sarah and to the rest of the club. 
Everyone who went to Rocketts sincerely appreciates all the help at the
various practices and everything leading up to the regatta.
