Hello all,
Now that we are getting to the latter stages of our rowing season the boats
are starting to show the accumulated grime of all the use. Next Saturday
8/9/08, following each session we will be washing all the boats. As each
session ends we can put the boats in slings on the asphalt pad ½ way up to
the boathouse and wash them inside and out, and we can also wash the oars.
As the 1st session usually has the most rowers we can also wash some of the
sculling boats. Each session can wash the boats they are using and one or 2
others based on cleaning participants, Ill try and stay thru the sessions
to coordinate which boats have been done/need to be done.
If we all make arrangement for and extra 45 minutes after rowing there
should be plenty of manpower to get all the boats clean. This will assure
that any guests at the Sunset Regatta the following day will have the
opportunity to see our equipment at is best while allowing us to row in
clean boats. At this time we can also make me aware of any equipment issues
so I can make sure to try and fix ASAP.
Please bring buckets, sponges, and Ill make sure we have soap (Kevin
advised last time we washed boats that it is best to use just soapy H2O and
plenty of elbow grease). Any members from the scullers using club equipment
would be welcome to help with some of that equipment.
Thanks all in advance for helping out.
