The annual Wye Island Regatta will be held on Saturday, September 13.

The 12.5-mile race starts at Wye Landing on the Wye East River, 18 miles
southeast of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Maryland's Eastern Shore and continues
around Wye Island. The course is over sheltered estuaries with minimum boat
traffic and great scenery.

We usually take mixed 8+s. We also have the option of taking 4+s, the quad
and 2Xs. We have 1 committed coxswain so far. Lineups for all boats will be
competitive, not first-come, first-serve. Advanced Sweep rowers & Racing Program
rowers may row together. If enough novices want to go, we can put together an
all-novice boat.

We will probabaly have at least 1 practice, probably on Sunday, September 6,
hopefully late morning. If you are unable to attend, you must let us know and
you must find your own sub, and also please let us know who that is.

We will drive the trailer up early Saturday morning, leaving boathouse
around 4:00 a.m. Mixed 8+ launch time is usually around 10:30. Other races launch
earlier. Race takes about 90 minutes. Mid-afternoon dinner afterwards at
Harris Crab House. We usually get home around 7 p.m. that night.

Trailer loading, Friday night around 6 p.m. Trailer unloading and boat
washing (to get rid of salt water) Sunday. You must be present for both.

Signup sheets will be posted in the boathouse by Wednesday, 8/13. Deadline
for signup: August 25.
