[RRC] Macon Oars Available / Equipment Issues

To All Rivanna Rowing Club Members -

In the course of reviewing our equipment it has come to my attention that we
have 24 Macon Oars (those oars that are spoons that all of us rowed with in
the past lovingly before being blessed with the hatchets we row with
presently) which weren't used at all last season. At our last Board Meeting
there was a consensus that we should make these oars available for purchase
to our club membership for $25.00 per oar. What could be better than a pair
of these to hang across the wall of a rec room or as a decorative touch in
someone's garage, or over a garage door - I am sure the possibilities are
endless. This is a chance to own something which has some sentimental value
to most Rivanna Rowers and at the same time contribute a little money which
will be used in the future to upgrade equipment.  Don't wait, I am sure they
will go quickly, we will retain 4 to use in the course of promotional events
so there are only 20 oars available - they are available any time just
contact me and I can arrange for you to pick up at the boathouse.

I will take this opportunity to check with all of those rowers who use or
have used equipment since the end of our 2007 season to see if anyone knows
of any issues we have with the club equipment.  If you would let me know via
email or by phone (see below) I will try to address it before we get into
our current season, so we can start with a clean slate.
