To sculling rack renters at RRC:
We have some new vacancies opening up in the rack spaces, and I have
corresponded with those people on the waiting list who can expect to
get in this winter.
Before newcomers enter, our policy is to allow current rack renters
to make requests to move (see attachment). Please respond to me by
Saturday 26 January if you desire to move.
In past years, I have not be able to accommodate everyone who sought
a move, and some folks are likely to be disappointed again this year.
But I try to balance all interests - including the needs of the club
at large and those of the newcomers.
Typically the requests are to move out of high racks. Anyone who
can handle a high rack would do me, the club, and newcomers a great
service if you will volunteer to take such a spot. Beyond the
altruistic glow of doing a good thing, you will know that your boat
is above the fray -- and thus unlikely to get dinged and dented by
the movement of other boats.
Thanks,
Jack Brown
RRC boat house captain
