thanks to all rrc that housed and encouraged this group!
the US women's 8 won decisively at the under 23 world championship
today in brandenburg, germany. i couldn't be more proud of this
group of women from 9 different schools that came together in just a
month to pull this off. those gold medals looked really nice!
kelsie chaudoin '08 (third from left in picture in link below) became
a real force in this boat and her efforts had a lot to do with it's
success! augusta stratos '09 was very close to making this very
successful boat. amanda chase '09 and marie long '10 both filled in
at a few practices and did very well. taylor gilmore '09 helped out
with some seat racing too!
helen tompkins rowed a gutsy race in challenging conditions for 6th
place in the A final. her competition included the hungarian woman
that won bronze in '06, silver in '07 and bronze in '08 and the top
new scullers for germany and great britain who won gold and silver.

alums schafer bomstein '08 and caitlin mixter '08 as well as the
chaudoins made the trip to the worlds. joe recruited as many as he
could to replace UVA HOOS! with USA!
