To RRC Members:
1. Our 2008 sweep rowing program is well under way with an excellent
participation level. Once again, we are in need of coxswains for the am
sessions in particular and on Saturday mornings when all three programs
come together to row. This past Saturday we filled 3 - 8s and only had
two coxswains. One of our coaches and a sweep rower volunteered to cox
the other two boats. Please ask around and pass the word that we are
looking for more coxswains. RRC members may also cox and receive payment
for their service. Please contact our coxswain coordinator Amelia Camacho
or Scott Stroney or myself at the emails/numbers listed below.
Amelia Camacho email: ameliafe at embarqmail.com; phone: 823-5192

Scott Stroney email: scottuvaguy at aol.com : phone: 296-6639
2. The Learn to Row program begins Monday, June 2nd. Many thanks to the
sweep rowers who have signed up for the LTR program coxing duty. We have
more slots available for the June am/pm LTR session. Please remember,
coxing for the LTR programs at least twice is one of the expected
contributions from sweep rowers.
3. The RRC Racing Program will be competing at the Rocketts Landing
Springs Regatta in Richmond on Saturday June 14th. This is an opportune
time for the am/pm sweep programs to compete also. We are looking for a
volunteer to coordinate and register the sweep rowers who wish to
compete. If you are interested in going to the regatta, please step
forward to take on this role. This is another way of offering your
contribution to the your fellow rowers and to the club.
Thank you all in advance for your contributions.
See you on the water.
