RRC Rowers,

 

UVA women's head coach, Kevin Sauer, is looking for assistance from the RRC
rowing community (please read his request below).  If you can help out with
this worthy cause, please contact Kevin at your earliest convenience.

To RRC community:

 

I am coaching the Women's Under-23 National Team and the Senior National
Team (not going to the Olympics) this summer here in Cville from June 15 -
July 7.  These teams will representing the US at the

U23 Worlds in Brandenburg, Germany from July 17-20 and at the Senior Worlds
in LInz, Austria from July 22-27.  They will be training after RRC practice
in the morning and before RRC in the afternoon.

 

Because of the Olympic Games, the funding for these teams is minimal this
summer.  Therefore, I was wondering if any of you would be willing to let
some of these college women, age 19-22, stay with you for these 3 weeks.

 

The only requirement would be for them to have a place to sleep, have access
to a bathroom and hang out between practices (probably napping a lot) and
also a place to cook simple meals as they will be on their own for food.  If
you have even a half-bath that is accessible, they can take showers at the
boathouse.  There would be no expectation for entertaining them or eating
with your family- just a place to crash. 

I would like to house them in pairs or more per household and twin beds,
double beds, futons, air mattresses (I have a few) are all doable.  They
will have their own transportation as well.  There will be a total of about
25-30 and I have 8-12 housed already.

 

I had these young women last summer as well and they were a delight to work
with and have around- I'm sure you would enjoy having them.
