PTO Meeting

Tonight will be a great night for both parents and students.  Beginning at
7:00 P.M. children can come in their pajamas if they would like, enjoy milk
and cookies and hear some great stories read by Stone-Robinson teachers.
While the children are listening to stories in the library, parents can hear
Nancy Healey, Project Safety Childhood Coordinator for the U.S. Attorney's
office, speak about internet safety.  This is a topic that every parent
should be knowledgeable about so please plan to attend.  THE PRESENTATION IS
NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN SO ALL CHILDREN MUST GO TO STORY TIME. Mrs.
Kindler will also give a brief presentation on the Superintendent's proposed
budget.  

 

County Schools Funding Requests

The school superintendent presented her funding request to the school board
on Wednesday, January 17.  This presentation can be viewed at
wwww.k12albemarle.org.  Please note the School Board's budget public hearing
is scheduled for January 31 at 6 P.M. in Lane Auditorium at the County
Office Building. 

 

Parent Input Requested on 2007-08 School Calendar

Three options for the 2007-08 academic calendar have been created.  The
school division is seeking parent feedback on these options.  The three
options are posted on the division website www.k12albemarle.org
<http://www.k12albemarle.org/> .  Click on Review and Comment on the
Proposed 2007-08 Calendar link to see the options and complete the on-line
feedback form.  This can be done until 1/27.

 

Free ADHD Workshops

The Albemarle Resource Center is sponsoring a free workshop entitled Getting
a Handle on ADHD: A Survival Guide for Parents.  This informative workshop
will be held at the Albemarle Resource Center at 1200 Forest Street in
Charlottesville.  Parents of elementary school students should plan to
attend on Thursday, February 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M.  The session for
parents of middle and high school students will be held on Thursday,
February 15 also starting at 8:30.  For more information and to RSVP, email
