THE STONY POINT STUDENTS NEED YOU! Please consider nominating yourself for the Stony Point PTO Board. The PTO Board is integral to the school community because it raises funds for students to have field trips and special assemblies and for teachers to have supplies and lead their classes in extra projects. The positions carry a one-year term with two-year term limitations which many of our current members have fulfilled. This is a great way to get to know the school more intimately and make a difference in the lives of everyone involved at Stony Point. The Board usually meets once a month - time and date determined by the committee at the first meeting.
The following positions for the 2007/2008 school year are open and listed below. The current PTO Board is scheduled to meet and vote on nominations Monday April 16, 2007. Please, respond as soon as possible! Contact information is listed below.
Executive Committee Vacancies:
President - "To preside at all meetings of the organization and of the executive committee at which he may be present; to perform such other duties as may be prescribed in these by-laws or assigned to him by the organization or by the Parent Advisory Committee; to coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the organization in order that the objectives may be met."
Vice-President/President-Elect- "To act as an aide to the president and to perform the duties of the president in the absence or disability of that officer to act; to learn the responsibilities of the president and serve in that office the following year."
Treasurer - "To have custody of all of the funds of the organization; to keep a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures; to make disbursements in accordance with the approved budget, as authorized by the organization, the Parent Advisory Committee, or a special committee; to present a financial statement at every business meeting of the organization an make a full report at the annual meeting; to prepare an submit a budget to the Parent Advisory Committee prior to the start of school for approval by the organization at the first regular meeting."
