BOOK BASKETS
   
      The folks at Book Baskets are asking you to bring in books your own children have outgrown. Last year, over 10,000 books were placed in the appreciative hands of area children. A small bookplate is placed in the front of each book, allowing the recipient to identify the gift book as his or her own.


            The books reach the individual children through a large number of social service and educational programs in Charlottesville ,  Albemarle , and surrounding Counties. Regular recipients include Bright Stars, Book Buddies, Head Start, The Salvation Army, Play Partners, Region Ten, the Free Clinic, and the Charlottesville Health Department.
    
   Availability of reading materials in the home correlates positively with success in school. You can help by filling the wicker Book Basket in the main officw at Stony Point.
