[SutherlandMatters] Funding Draft

The Sutherland PTO has available approximately $11,000 from the magazine
fundraiser and unspent budgeted classroom funds. The PTO would like to
allocate $9000 for additional classroom and teacher support.
 
The PTO started with over $3,800 as a beginning balance. We donated this
entire amount to the carnival and field day; events that are now
orchestrated through the school.
 
There were opinions voiced at the March PTO meeting questioning the funding
package that was requested by the teachers and supported by the PTO board.
Others felt there should be $5000 in startup funds for next year and
additional monies donated to the school¹s carnival/field day events. This
would have  a negative impact on the funds remaining for additional
2005-2006 classroom and teacher support.
 
There will be a SMS PTO special committee meeting to discuss the remaining
funds. The meeting will take place on Monday April 10th at 6:30 pm in the
media center. 
 
The PTO board requests your presence to discuss this important issue. If you
are unable to attend, e-mail your ideas and thoughts to one or all of the
three board members.
