[SutherlandMatters] Tdap Booster Requirements

As you know, the 2006 Virginia General Assembly passed a law requiring
all 6th grade students to have a tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap)
booster shot prior to entry into school for the 2006-2007 term, IF at
least five years has passed since the last tetanus containing
vaccination.

 

Due to a number of factors rendering the obtainment of this vaccination
difficult, the Virginia Department of Health prescribed a 90 day grace
period after the start of the school year for compliance with the new
requirement.

 

Albemarle County Public Schools will use the date of November 27, 2006,
as the day by which student records must be in compliance with the new
requirement or the students will be excluded from school until the
appropriate documentation is provided.
