Dear Sutherland Families,
Friday has been declared "Hokie Hope Day" by the administration of Virginia Tech. The idea is to create a visible sign of support for those who are grieving over the tragic deaths of so many at Virginia Tech by wearing orange and maroon. I am inviting our students to join in this demonstration of sympathy, solidarity, and concern over the senseless deaths of so many innocent people by wearing orange and maroon or Virginia Tech clothing on Friday. We can help our children create a positive symbol of caring and underscore that we are all one people, bound by our commonality as members of the human race. We will also allow students to wear VT hats throughout the day if that is the form their participation takes. I will announce this special activity on the morning announcements Thursday. Participation is voluntary, of course. Thanks! Dave Rogers
