Information on
International Walk or Ride to School Month
* In the U.S., International Walk to School Day is expected to
include 5,000 schools from all 50 states. Walkers from the U.S. will
join children and adults in 40 countries around the world
* All this week, we will have grades compete to see who can get
the most students to walk or ride their bikes to school.
* Live too far away to walk? Why not get dropped off at a
friend's house?
* The SCA has organized "Check Points" at the Forest Lakes North
and South Pool for Thursday, Oct. 18th. Be there between 8:15am and
8:30am to walk as a group with teachers!
* Our goal is to get AS MANY KIDS AS POSSIBLE to walk on
Thursday, Oct. 18th
* The competition has officially started. The grade level that
has the most students walking or riding to school ALL this week will get
to have lunch OUTSIDE on Friday, Oct.19th.
* Why get involved? To be healthy, reduce pollution in the air
and to support your grade.
* Music and prizes for those who walk on the 18th!
