Monticello High School

Community Forum on Cyber Safety

A Who's Watching Charlottesville Presentation

March 18, 2008

6:45 - 8:30 p.m.

Monticello High School will host a Community Forum on Cyber Safety
Awareness for Southern Feeder Pattern families on March 18, 2008. The
program begins at 6:45 p.m. in the forum at the Monticello High School.
Community representatives will help us understand popular websites like
Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, Flickr, and Blogspot that are often used
by our children. They will give you and opportunity to ask such
questions as how much information should be included on a social
networking site or how can parents monitor for safety? They will also
address the risk to children and teens from online predators and the
role of law enforcement.

Past participants have found this presentation to be informative. If
you have questions about the overall program, contact Dr. Bernard
Hairston, Office of Community Engagement 293-0288 or Jan Mawyer at
Monticello High School (244-3100).

This forum is open to the public. We tried, but, unfortunately, we were
unable to schedule a similar forum at Sutherland. Please know you are
welcome to attend.
