Drama Enrichment for Middle School Students 

"Stage It!" 

Imagine your stage, create a role, make the props, design your costume, direct the scene, 

and suddenly the world will see your show onstage. "Stage It!" is a new summer theater 

camp for all rising 7th, 8th and 9th grade Albemarle County students interested in theater. "Stage It!" is as varied and creative as the students enrolled, designed to capture every 

child's imagination and to guide student talent into usable life skills. At the end of the 

session, you will be onstage performing your own group's production. 

Included in the program are: 

                        * 

Daily acting sessions including pantomime and improvisation 

* 

Vocal technique 

* 

Presentation practice 

* 

Script writing 

* 

Performance of original scenes 

* 

Stage movement instruction with music 

* 

Hands-on theater and rehearsal techniques 

* 

Organizational strategies 

* 

Teamwork 

 

The curtain is going up........on you! Don't miss "Stage It!" Note: Final Performance of "Stage It!" is on Friday, July 18th at 5:00 p.m. 

at the Burley Middle School auditorium. 

Registration: Begins Monday, April 21 @ 9:00 a.m. 

3rd Floor Lobby, Albemarle County Office Building 

Dates: July 7th through July 18th 

Deadline: May 9, 2008 

Eligibility: Rising 7th, 8th and 9th grade students enrolled in Albemarle County Schools 

who like to perform onstage. 

Limit: 20 

Tuition: $190.00 

Schedule: Mondays through Fridays 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Eligibility: Rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students enrolled in Albemarle County Schools will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited to 20.

RULES/REGULATIONS 

                        * 

Students will be expected to display appropriate behavior. Failure to do so may result in suspension and/or removal from the summer program. The summer program will adhere to the Albemarle County Standards of Student Conduct. 

 

                        * 

Students involved in confrontations involving weapons and/or physical contact will be removed from the summer program and will not receive a refund. 

 

                        * 

A student who possesses, uses, or is under the influence of a drug, narcotic, tobacco product, or alcoholic beverage will be removed from the summer program and will not receive a refund. 

 

                        * 

Personal stereo players, video games or any other electronic devices are prohibited. 

 

                        * 

Student's dress may not interfere with classroom activities nor contribute to the creation of a disturbance. Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times. 

 

                        * 

Parents are expected to pick students up promptly at the end of each day's session. 

 

                        * 

This signed registration form gives parental permission for a student's participation in course field trips. Parents will be informed of such field trips in advance. Fees may apply for off-site meals.
