            Special update: Three places are still open in the Busy Bugs Camp for 6 - 8 year olds on July 17 - 19. Cost is $80 for VDM members. Call Marisa at 434-977-1025 to register.

                  CAROUSEL OPENING CEREMONY 


            Join us Saturday, July 8 at 10:30 AM for the opening celebration for our antique kiddie carousel in front of the Museum. The carousel is a generous gift from Fred W. Scott Jr. with sponsorship from the Charlottesville Parking Center Inc. The carousel will be open to the public free during Museum hours. Join us for a ride!

                  VDM ON CHANNEL 29 NEWS
                 

            Channel 29 News will feature the Health Hut exhibit in its early morning program on Monday, July 10. Tune in during the 6 or 6:30 AM segments to see this interesting piece. The original exhibit items are a gift from The UVa Children's Hospital.


                  CARS, COUCHES & KIDS EXHIBIT
                 

                  In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Downtown Mall, VDM is displaying a fascinating photo exhibit on the history of our building, 524 East Main Street, which was once a DeSoto dealership and a furniture store. Stop in to see some artifacts and pictures of this interesting bit of Charlottesville history.

            HOURS:
            Tues-Sat 10:00-5:00 - Sun 1:00-5:00 - Closed Mondays 
            Closed the day before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Jan. 1 and Easter. We are open when schools are closed on Snow Days (except on Mondays)! Just call the Museum before heading out.

            ADMISSION:
            $4 per person, all ages (under 1 year old free) - Children must be accompanied by an adult - Museum Members: Free - ASTC and ACM Reciprocal Members: Free - $0.50 AAA discount per person with card - Handicapped accessible

            PARKING:
            2 hours free parking at Market Street Parking Garage (5th & Market) or Water Street Parking Garage 
            (3rd & Water) - bring ticket to front desk for validation
