                  ENJOY A FAMILY DINNER AT EPPIE'S AND BENEFIT THE MUSEUM
                 


            Eppie's is a new, family-friendly restaurant on the Downtown Mall just one block from the Virginia Discovery Museum. On August 1 and 15, the owners will donate 10% of their net profits from dinner sales (eat-in or take-out from 5:00-9:00 PM) to the Museum. These dates coincide with FREE Municipal Band concerts at the Pavilion. So, come to the Museum, go to Eppie's, and enjoy the concert!

            Eppie's provides indoor and outdoor seating, high chairs, and booster seats. The regular menu includes chicken, pasta, salads, and "southern sides". For the kids, there is mac and cheese, spaghetti, and "make your own peanut butter sandwich".

            We thank the owners of Eppie's for their support of community organizations with "10% Tuesdays". Enjoy!


                  HOW ANIMALS HIDE - A SPECIAL PROGRAM AT THE MUSEUM ON AUGUST 19

                  $ 3 members / $ 5 non-members, pre-registration required

                  Our friends from the Virginia Museum of Natural History return to present another fun educational program. In conjunction with our Now You See It, Now You Don't! exhibit, Ann Mallek will present her favorite program about camouflage. How can a creature hide in plain sight? Learn about six different types of camouflage and how they are used to help animals to survive in the wild.

            HOURS:
            Tues-Sat 10:00-5:00 - Sun 1:00-5:00 - Closed Mondays 
            Closed the day before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Jan. 1 and Easter. We are open when schools are closed on Snow Days (except on Mondays)! Just call the Museum before heading out.

            ADMISSION:
            $4 per person, all ages (under 1 year old free) - Children must be accompanied by an adult - Museum Members: Free - ASTC and ACM Reciprocal Members: Free - $0.50 AAA discount per person with card - Handicapped accessible

            PARKING:
            2 hours free parking at Market Street Parking Garage (5th & Market) or Water Street Parking Garage (3rd & Water) - bring ticket to front desk for validation
