                  around the corner and they will talk about summer safety issues such as

                  playground, bicycle, and swimming safety.

            May 17th through October 19th 

            Come learn about the exciting and important world of construction!  Put on a hard hat and enter the Virginia Discovery Museum's construction site.  Use blocks or pipes to make a building, try digging with a backhoe, and learn about different tools.

                  Discovery Dash Early Registration Deadline Today!

                  Register TODAY for the 18th Annual Discovery Dash!

                  What: A series of races for children ages 3-12 and their families.
                  When: Saturday May 24, 2008
                  Where: Monticello High School Track
                  How to register: Online at www.vadm.org or you can pick up forms at the Museum and Ragged Mountain Running Shop.

                  The deadline for regular registration for the Discovery Dash is this Friday, May 16! After Friday, late registration increases to $18 per registrant. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 21.

            HOURS:
            Tues-Sat 10:00-5:00 - Sun 1:00-5:00 - Closed Mondays 
            Closed the day before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Jan. 1 and Easter. We are open when schools are closed on Snow Days (except on Mondays)! Just call the Museum before heading out.

            ADMISSION:
            $4 per person, all ages (under 1 year old free) - Children must be accompanied by an adult - Museum Members: Free - ASTC and ACM Reciprocal Members: Free - $0.50 AAA discount per person with card - Handicapped accessible

            PARKING:
            2 hours free parking at Market Street Parking Garage (5th & Market) or Water Street Parking Garage (3rd & Water) - bring ticket to front desk for validation
