Albemarle Ballet performance

On Saturday, May 3, the students of the Burley/Walton Strings Orchestra participated in the "Music in the Parks" music competition held at Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, Virginia.
They received a rating of "Excellent" and the "Overall Junior High/Middle School Orchestra Award" for highest score in that category.
Congratulations, strings!

Little Red Riding Hood Comes to Life at PVCC's Dickinson Theatre with the Albemarle Ballet Dancers

This weekend at PVCC's Dickinson Theatre for only $7!!!
Saturday May 17th at 7pm & Sunday May 18th at 2pm

The Albemarle Ballet Theatre and the Studio for the Performing Arts present fifty local dance students and performers at PVCC's Dickinson Theatre in their fourth Spring Dance Gala on Saturday May 17th at 7pm and Sunday May 18th at 2pm. The centerpiece of this event for all ages is Little Red Riding Hood, an original theatrical and comical ballet created by director, Sally Hart. New ballet, modern, and jazz works round out this dance extravaganza.

Enchanting flowers and animals dance along with your favorite characters and bring Little Red's magic forest to life. Colorful costumes to match original choreography by the ABT faculty set to The Comedians and Summer Day Suite spin a new yarn that revitalizes this age-old tale.

Behind her Eyes is a dramatic modern work by Charlottesville choreographer Dinah Gray.

Dinah Gray's ballet, Concerto in Bianco e Nero is set to Bach's Concerto for Two Violins.

Rhythm Reborn is set by Erin Forker to dynamic, funky tracks from House of Om and The Philadelphia Experiment Remixed.
