The
Albemarle County School Board is accepting applications for
membership on the Long-Range Planning Advisory Committee from the
following magisterial districts: Jack
Jouett, Rio, Rivanna, Samuel Miller, and White Hall.
The Committee will analyze enrollment trend data, population growth
trends, building capacities, staffing standards, and other relevant
information to develop recommendations for the School Board
concerning facility needs for the Capital Improvement Program.
The Committee is also part of any redistricting committee that is
convened.

The
Albemarle County School Board invites parents and community members
to apply for membership on the School Health Advisory Board.
The Board meets at  least four times a year and annually reports
to the School Board on the status of school health education and
services in each of the division's schools.  The report also
includes an assessment of health needs of school-aged children in the
school division and may include recommendations designed to address
the needs identified in this process.

,
under School Board, then Committees, in the School Board Office at

“You
Made It”...
The
Enrichment Alliance of Virginia
will
offer "You Made It" from November 9 to December 7.
Visiting artists from our community will offer weekly arts and crafts
activities.  Each child should complete this session with 3-4
four hand-made gifts.  Our program is open to 2nd through 6th
graders. We meet at Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church after school on
Mondays. Cost is $75..00 with sibling discounts and limited financial
aid available.  This program is made possible in part by VSA of
Virginia. Please visit our website at www.enrichva.org
for more information.

QuickStart
Tennis...

The inaugural
QuickStart Tennis After-School Program was a big success at all five
middle schools.  The kids at Walton were fortunate to have
Monticello HS Tennis Coach Andrew Wymer as their instructor.
Walton is lucky to have two tennis courts on-site and we want to help
put them to good use; help get the word around so the next time an
after-school QuickStart Tennis program is offered, it will be
even bigger and better.

Please
check out the story on our website:

Expo
Night...
On
Thursday December 3, Walton is hosting its first exposition night.
This is a great opportunity for students, families and Walton staff
to get together to support our kids and their hard work! Come for
dinner and look at student work on display.
